Al-Naameh Hazardous Landfill

The Outcome

HZE was the contractor for providing, installing, and training geosythetic materials for this project that spanned over nineteen years. Working alongside Sukomi, our establishment labored to create capping for the landfill, to shield humans and the environment from contaminants.

At the time of completion, Al-Naameh became the region’s first and biggest sanitary landfill, carrying approximately 13M tons of sorted waste and creating an opportunity for transformation of the surrounding area.

Project Overview

HZE participated in the final capping phase of the project by providing the installation of geotextile and geocomposite layers. LLDPE 1MM was installed, followed by an HDPE drainage net, geocomposites, sand layer, and final capping.
